We have two safety courses aimed at anyone whose work requires them to operate in proximity to the electricity transmission and distribution network.
AFAQ-ETA is able to offer a short self study preparation to safe working. The UK course fee
is currently £55 + VAT for UK
students and £60 for overseas students. Students who order this helpful
resource can later enrol on the full course with a 5% discount - just ask for
details when you contact us.
This course has been running successfully for nearly 6 years. The following areas are covered:
Module 1: General Safety
Module 2: An Introduction to Electrical Energy
Module 3: Electrical Substations
Module 4: Underground Cables
Module 5: Overhead Lines
Students are only required to complete modules 1&2, followed
by one of the other three, depending on their area of work.
There is no set time to study as students are encouraged to work at their own pace, but candidates are advised that a full module will require a minimum of 20 hours for study and completion of TMAs.
Students are required to submit at least one module within the first 12 months
of enrolling, and should be aware that they will be liable for additional fees if
the course is not complete within 3 years of enrolling and they wish to
continue studying.
The course enrolment fee is currently £530 + VAT for UK students and £580 for overseas students.
Students who have previously ordered the Introduction to HV Systems Working
module can enrol on the course with a 5% discount - just ask for details when
you enrol.
A course brochure containing more details, and enrolment forms can be
downloaded using the menu on the right-hand side of this page.
